1. QR Code Scams, here’s how these scams typically operate:
[i] Scammers may ask you to scan a QR code to receive payment, but scanning a QR code is only for sending money, not receiving it.
[ii] Scammers often send fake QR codes to trick you into sending money directly to them. Be cautious and verify the authenticity before scanning any code.
[iii] OLX does not require QR codes for payments or transactions. If someone asks you to scan a QR code in a deal, it's likely a scam.
[iv] If you encounter such scams, report the user or activity immediately through OLX’s safety channels.

2. Payment Link scams can be particularly harmful for sellers. Scammers may send fraudulent payment links pretending to transfer money, but instead, they trick you into sending your funds.
Key Points to Remember:
[i] Never click on unfamiliar or suspicious links, as they could lead to scams or malware.
[ii] If after clicking on the link, you're asked to enter your PIN, it's a scam. You do not need a PIN to receive money.
[iii] If you receive a message indicating "money will be debited," be cautious. Legitimate payment receipts will mention money being credited to your account.
[iv] Be wary of terms like "Send," "Requested by," or "Pay." These are signs that money is about to leave your account, not enter it.

[ii] They insist on making an advance payment for the product.

[iv] They then send a QR code for a larger amount. Scanning this QR code will deduct money from your account.
4. Fake PayTM App fraud, here is how they operate:
[i] The buyer shows a fake payment proof for purchasing your product listed on OLX.
[ii] They ask for your details, including Name, Phone Number, Amount, Time, and Date.
[iii] They send you a convincing but fake screenshot of a PayTM payment.
[iv] Always cross-check whether you have actually received the payment in your PayTM app or bank before proceeding.
5. Here is how fraudsters operate in the Pay First and Get Double Payment Scheme:
[i] They request a small amount (e.g., Rs. 1) and return a larger amount (e.g., Rs. 2) to build trust.
[ii] Once trust is established, they ask for a larger payment and then disappear, never returning the money.
[iii] They may use emotional appeals to convince you to send more money. Always be cautious and use your judgment.
