1. Why has OLX discontinued the KYC process?
OLX has discontinued the KYC process as part of our efforts to simplify the user experience and streamline our platform. We continue to prioritize user safety and trust through other robust verification and moderation practices.
2. When was the KYC process discontinued on OLX?
We are deprecating the current KYC entry points on both Android and iOS apps. This change will go live with the app update released on 19th August. Additionally, the ‘Verified’ tags will also be removed from the platform after the changes are implemented.
3. I already completed KYC before the discontinuation. What happens to my data?
Any KYC data previously collected will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection regulations. Your information will remain secure and confidential.
4. Will OLX still verify users?
Yes, OLX continues to implement various safety checks and content moderation tools to ensure the security of our platform. We are introducing a new “Trusted User” badge to highlight credible and trustworthy users on the platform.
5. Who is eligible to receive the Trusted User badge?
To qualify for the Trusted User badge, users must meet both of the following criteria.
- Active Elite Package: Requires an active subscription for the users
- Must meet the standards defined by our Buyer & Seller
6. How will I know if I have received the Trusted User badge?
If you meet the eligibility criteria:
- The badge will be automatically granted.
- It will be visible across various parts of the app, such as:
- User Profile
- Chat Window
- Chat Inbox
- Listing/Homepage Tiles
- Ad Product Detail View
7. Will OLX bring back KYC in the future?
At present, we have no plans to reinstate the KYC process. However, we continuously evaluate our safety measures and may update our policies as needed to ensure the best user experience.

9. Will the badge stay forever once granted?
No. The Trusted User badge is linked to your Elite package.
- If your Elite subscription expires, the badge will be removed automatically.
- If you renew or re-purchase the Elite package and still meet the trust criteria, the badge will be reinstated.
10. Is the Trusted User badge available to all users?
Yes, any user who meets the defined criteria can receive the badge. It is not restricted to a specific category or region.
